Principal for a Day (PFAD) allows businesses and organizations the opportunity to visit a school and shadow the principal to increase public awareness of the accomplishments and challenges at CPS.

The goal of Principal for a Day is that all PFADs will continue to engage themselves, their companies, organizations or associations in continued involvement and support throughout the year at their school.

This year's Principal for a Day event will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009.

We had a successful Principal for a Day last year on Thursday, October 30, 2008. During the morning, over 1400 corporate, community and civic leaders across the city of Chicago served as PFADs in the 600 Chicago Public Schools in the morning. That afternoon, Mayor Richard M. Daley hosted a luncheon at the Chicago Hilton and Towers for all the participants and principals.
